Integrative Clinical Counselling

Hey, I’m Annice (she/her).

Being a human is hard - life can be painful and overwhelming. If you feel like you're overthinking and anxious, your self-critic is loud, you're tired but wired and at the mercy of emotions - you're not alone.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CHN), I specialize in the bidirectional influence of our mental and physical health on wellbeing. I help folks understand and partner with their nervous systems and bodies, so that they can gain freedom from the past, patterns and perspectives that are holding them back. I work with teens (13+) and adults who are navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma + perinatal mental health.

My integrative approach blends neuroscience, somatic practices, nutrition and psychotherapy. I use a multimodal approach and pull from Narrative, ACT, IFS and am excited to offer EMDR come fall 2025. I aim to help folks cultivate compassionate self-awareness and curiosity, while developing skills that empower them to realize the transformation they seek and achieve their wellness goals.

Considering the many pillars of your wellbeing, healing with me is purposeful - we focus on the "why" beneath the patterns, and we create real, lasting shifts, together.

I have experience working with folks from varying populations and identities, including members of LGBTQ2SIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities.

Pillars of Practice

What you can expect working with me.

Collaborative

I believe that you are the expert of your life and my role is to help you navigate the challenges and beliefs that may be keeping you from creating the transformation you seek. In a non-judgemental atmosphere based in relationship, you can expect challenging questions, moments to attune to your feelings and body, opportunities to take perspective and the co-exploration of your inner strength, resilience and capacity for change. In our work together, attention is also paid to your social and cultural context, holding space for who you are, where you come from and how you have been impacted by varying life experiences.

Integrative

As a nutritionist and yoga teacher, I look at mental health from a holistic perspective, considering all the pillars of a person’s wellbeing. It’s important to me to consider the ways in which nutrition and lifestyle can impact a person’s ability to be well and feel their best. As such, when creating treatment plans, I may also incorporate dietary, supplement, movement and/or lifestyle recommendations. You can also expect certain offerings to take our work outside of the therapy room. This may look like journal prompts, podcast, book or article recommendations and/or mindfulness practices.

Strengths Focused + Trauma-Informed

As a trauma-informed, person centred and strengths based clinician, I cultivate relationship first and then collaboratively navigate the modalities and processes that may be best suited to my client for where they’re at and what they need. As a collaborative therapeutic relationship, clients play an integral role in the direction, speed and context of the work that we do. My approach is informed by many theories, philosophies, and modalities, including: Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Therapies, Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems/Parts Work.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”
-Carl Rogers
